"I suppose I could call meeting you a pleasure." Fledge said formally. She hid a spurt of happiness from the fact that he hadn't just stayed silent about the bounty hunter bit. Then she realizedshe was happy about it and shut down thought process for a second. Why was she happy about that fact? She asked herself. The wind picked up eaven stronger now, and blew a bit of rain into Fledge's face. "It looks like it's going to storm. Do you have a place to stay?" Fledge was being polite, something she was generally good at with females, but she was some what appauled that she was being polite to a male she'd just barely met.

Magma heard a faint clap of thunder and felt a drop of rain on his arm. "Huh? I guess you're right," he said. "It is going to storm." Do I have a place to stay? he thought. Why would she ask a question like that? Magma eyed the girl--Fledge--and tilted his head to the side. "No, I don't have a place to go," he answered. "Why?"

"There's a room for rent at the place I work, It's cheap enough and its dryer than staying outside." Fledge found herself saying. Fledge wondered at her own kindness. She convinced herself it wasn't kindness toward Magma though, it was toward Katze who would like to have some one rent the room. She watched Magma for a reaction. (Sorry for another short post)

Magma blinked a couple of times and continued to stare at fledge. She's offering me a room? he thought. I barely know her. He raised an eyebrow slowly at her, though not completely. Well, I suppose a room is better than a wet rocky floor. "Sure, why not," he finally said aloud. He got up off the floor and walked toward Fledge. "Lead the way."

Fledge silently led the way through town. A couple times, people stopped and stared at her, but most just left them alone. They reached a large one-story building that looked like a cross between a house and a shop. A sign above the door said 'Hunter's Heart'. Fledge opened the door with an old key and was welcomed by a small empty room with a bulliten board in the back that was large enough to cover the back wall. It was covered in papers tacked on. Fledge sighed and sat at one of the small tables.

Magma entered the building after Fledge sat down and looked around. It was a small abode that looked a bit worn out. He noticed the dust in certain areas, but other areas were rather well dusted. He walked up to the bulletin board and stared at the papers that were there. He didn't care much for reading them. He just wanted to see. He turned around and went to sit on a table across from Fledge. "Nice place you got here," he said.

"I guesss you could say that." Fledge said cooley. She shuffled in her chair for a moment then got up. She looked at the builletin board again, closer now. She looked at each paper in turn, most were low paying wanted adds, but one caught her interest. Honestly, she was just checking bounties until she pulled that add off the board. She glanced at the face once, and froze as the paper slipped from her hands. Her heart thumped and she collapsed to her knees, taking the chair behind her as support.

Magma watched as Fledge got up and went over to the board of papers. He swayed left to right a few times and hummed a little tune. The tune sounded like a lullaby. He smiled as he hummed and continued to sway in his seat. Then, he saw Fledge take one of the papers off and look at it. Almost instantly however, the paper slipped through her hand as she fell to her knees. Mama's eyes went wide in a surprised way and he got up. He went over to her and stood over her. "Are you all right?" he asked.

"I'm fine" Fledge growled low in her throat "I just can't believe he survived." Her hand lifted off the paper, showing the man's face. Hatred filled her as she looked at the paper and the grainy picture on it. Again her hand ran along her cheek bone where the silvery scar was. She had tried so hard... Now that was nothing.

Magma took the paper out of her hand. He stared at the photo of the man in it. "What the..." quietly came out of his mouth. "But.....he's dead." He checked the date on the article to make sure it was a long time ago. It was not. In fact, it was earlier this week. The man was fairly recognizable. Magma would never forget his face. He now turned his attention over to Fledge, who moved her hand across her face. "How do you know about this man?" he asked.

"He killed my brother, no, He killed all of them. He killed my family." Fledge mumbled just clear enough to hear. Her fear and anger had dripped into shock, like candlewax reforming. This man, had killed her mother, her father, and her brother. She had killed him, or so she thought. But now his picture was here, under a bounty for 15 thousand dollars. She had avenged her brother's death. How could he...

Killed.......her family, Magma thought. He put his hands down and felt the paper slip out of his hold. He kept his stare to the ground below him and thought back to when he was younger. He growled lowly and looked up at the window. The rain was pouring down heavily onto the glass. "I think I should go," he said, turning to the door. "I just realized I have to do something." I'm gonna freaking kill him. And I'll make sure he stays dead this time.

"Don't." Fledge's hard self was back "I know what you're thinking, just don't. " She'd already figured this guy'd done the same to Magma as he did to her. Fledge sighed, standing again, going over to the paper that lay on the dusty floor. She picked it up in her hand and lay it on the counter thatwas on the other side of the room. She went to the other side of the counter through a swinging door that matched the counter's surface. She walked to the computer that was on a slightly lower and protruding shelf and tapped some keys. "There, I've taken up the hunt. This guy's not gunna live another week." Then she turned to Magma and said "You're room's upstairs, third on the right. You pay when you leave."

Why is she stopping me? he thought. It isn't her concern. He jumped a bit at the loud crack of lightning in the sky and sighed. "Fine," Magma said simply. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a somewhat large wad of cash. He didn't know how much he needed, and it was probably a little less than $750, but he shrugged. "There might be more than needed in this," he said, handing it to Fledge. "I leave when I get up, which might be sooner than you think."

Fledge looked astonished for a moment and her buisness sense kicked in "We can't accept this much, it's only $20 a night!" She handed the money back. The fear and disbelief had faded into a questioning gaze "You're really something, Magma. What do you do for a living to be caring around that much money?" Fledge looked at the ceiling and thought I need to plan. This hunt's gunna be difficult, even for me. Her expression became troubled now.
